About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled Diagnostic Medical Sonographer to join our Radiology/Ultrasound team at Sechelt Hospital. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for performing high-quality ultrasound examinations, providing exceptional patient care, and contributing to a collaborative and supportive work environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform abdominal, obstetrical, pelvic, peripheral vascular, small parts, and echocardiography ultrasound examinations, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and best practices.
- Support your team by receiving and completing requisitions, entering relevant data into the diagnostic imaging information system, preparing patients for procedures, and conducting examinations utilizing ultrasound and Doppler techniques.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives, educational programs, and research projects as assigned.
Requirements:
To be successful in this role, you must have:
- A graduate degree from a recognized training program in Diagnostic Cardiac Sonography and Diagnostic General Sonography, with certification from Sonography Canada or the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS).
- Completion of Intravenous Therapy training or equivalent experience working in IV Therapy.
- Demonstrated knowledge of sonography procedures, including abdominal, obstetrical, pelvic, peripheral vascular, small parts, and cardiac sonography, as well as aseptic techniques and safe work procedures with diagnostic sonographic equipment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with patients, families, colleagues, and other healthcare professionals.
