At Monaghan Mushrooms Ltd., we are seeking a skilled Mushroom Picker to join our team. This permanent position offers a unique opportunity to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, harvesting high-quality mushrooms from our rural area farm.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for picking row and orchard crops, as well as grading vegetables and fruits into different grades according to size, shape, color, and volume. Additionally, they will pack fruits and vegetables, load, unload, and transfer crates, supplies, and farm produce, livestock, and poultry.

Key Responsibilities
  • Picking and harvesting mushrooms in a timely and efficient manner
  • Grading and packing fruits and vegetables to meet quality standards
  • Loading, unloading, and transferring crates and supplies as needed
  • Detecting disease and health problems in crops, livestock, and poultry
  • Examining products for quality and readiness for market
Requirements
  • No degree, certificate, or diploma required; willingness to train is essential
  • Able to work at heights and in wet/damp environments
  • Physically demanding role requiring manual dexterity, hand-eye coordination, and ability to distinguish between colors
  • Standing for extended periods and bending, crouching, and kneeling frequently

Compensation

We offer a competitive salary of $45,000 - $60,000 per year, depending on experience. With overtime required, this can increase significantly.
