Job Title: Health Care Aide

Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled Health Care Aide to join our team at Southern Health-Santé Sud. As a Health Care Aide, you will provide support and assistance to residents/patients in Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) as identified in the care plan.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide personal care and assistance to residents/patients in ADLs, including bathing, dressing, and grooming.
  • Assist with mobility and transfers, as needed.
  • Prepare and serve meals and snacks, as required.
  • Assist with medication administration, as directed by the Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse.
  • Participate in resident/patient care planning and implementation, as part of the interdisciplinary team.
  • Document resident/patient care and progress, as required.
Requirements:
  • Grade 12 diploma or equivalent.
  • Health Care Aide Certificate from a recognized program.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (Acute Care).
  • One to two years' experience working in a healthcare setting, preferably caring for elderly or disabled clients.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing situations.
