Purchasing Specialist

Linamar Corporation, a leading global manufacturing company, is seeking a highly skilled Purchasing Specialist to join our team. This role plays a crucial part in ensuring the company's purchasing operations run smoothly and efficiently.
About the RoleWe are looking for an experienced Purchasing Specialist with a strong background in procurement and supply chain management. The ideal candidate will have excellent analytical skills, be able to negotiate effectively with suppliers, and possess strong communication and interpersonal skills.
This role will be responsible for managing vendor relationships, sourcing products and services, and developing cost-saving initiatives. The successful candidate will also be expected to work closely with cross-functional teams to identify areas of improvement and implement process enhancements.
Key Responsibilities- Manage vendor relationships, develop and maintain contracts, and ensure compliance with company policies.
- Sources products and services from approved vendors, negotiates prices, and ensures timely delivery.
- Develops and implements cost-saving initiatives, such as optimizing inventory levels, reducing waste, and improving supply chain efficiency.
- Works closely with cross-functional teams to identify areas of improvement and implement process enhancements.
- Analyzes market trends, competitor pricing, and supplier performance to make informed decisions.
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Commerce, or a related field.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in purchasing or procurement, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to meet deadlines.
- A competitive salary range of $65,000 - $85,000 per annum, based on experience.
