Job Title: Front Desk Receptionist
The Student Society of McGill University (SSMU) is seeking a highly organized and customer-focused individual to join our team as a Front Desk Receptionist. As a key member of our front desk team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service to students, staff, and the public, while maintaining a high level of knowledge about the SSMU and its services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Answer questions and respond to inquiries from students, staff, and the public
- Provide information about the SSMU and its services
- Manage the front desk operations, including receiving and distributing mail, answering phones, and maintaining office supplies
- Assist with events and meetings, including booking rooms and coordinating logistics
- Perform administrative tasks, such as data entry and filing
- Provide support to the Human Resources Director and other staff members as needed
Requirements:
- Education in Business Administration or a related field, paired with a minimum of 1 year of experience in an office or student environment
- Extensive knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Knowledge of the McGill University campus and community
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work in a team environment and provide support to colleagues as needed
Working Conditions:
This is a casual part-time position, with a salary of $21.69 per hour. The contract dates are ASAP to May 31, 2024.
