Job Description

The Director of Diversity and Inclusion Initiatives will play a pivotal role in supporting Cassels' vibrant and active EDI program, reporting directly to our Chief EDI Officer. This 6-month contract position involves overseeing the development and implementation of strategies, policies, and practices that advance Cassels' EDI goals and initiatives.

The ideal candidate will have experience working in a legal setting or private practice, with a proven track record in planning and executing EDI initiatives. Strong connections to community organizations and an understanding of social, cultural, and economic contexts are essential for this role. Excellent communication, project management, organizational, time management, and attention to detail skills are also required.

Estimated Salary: $120,000 - $150,000 per year

This salary estimate is based on industry standards for a senior-level position in a similar field, taking into account the location and requirements of the job. We offer a competitive compensation package that reflects the expertise and qualifications of our employees.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you should possess:

  • Two or more years of experience working in a legal setting or private practice (private practice preferred).
  • Experience assisting with planning and executing EDI initiatives.
  • Connection to community organizations.
  • Demonstrated understanding of social, cultural, and economic contexts of underrepresented or marginalized communities.
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written), project management skills, organizational skills, time management skills, and attention to detail.
  • Strong ability to navigate and lead sensitive projects.
