The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in ensuring compliance with environmental standards and regulations, while implementing effective strategies to mitigate project impacts. Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading internal reviews of environmental designs and mitigation plans;
  • Collaborating on environmental quality management systems;
  • Maintaining relationships with environmental authorities and stakeholders;
  • Implementing and monitoring the Construction Environmental Management Plan (CEMP);
  • Serving as the primary contact for environmental management with clients;
  • Developing and implementing strategies to meet project environmental requirements;
  • Directing the environmental program and audit processes;
  • Engaging with Indigenous groups on environmental and archaeological preservation;
  • Ensuring compliance with environmental standards and agreements.

To be considered for this exciting opportunity, candidates must possess:

  • A minimum of 10 years of combined education and experience in environmental compliance management;
  • Certification as a Certified Environmental Professional, as per provincial standards;
  • A minimum of 10 years in senior management roles overseeing major projects, including urban and rural transit construction;
  • Proven expertise in developing, monitoring, and auditing environmental practices;
  • Proficiency in erosion and sediment control measures;
  • Experience with federal and provincial permit applications;
  • In-depth knowledge of environmental and waste regulations and industry standards.
