Healthcare Strategic Communications Expert

Cda-Amc is now Canada's Drug Agency (CDA-AMC), a leading pan-Canadian health organization. We drive better coordination, alignment, and public value within Canada's drug and health technology landscape.
Our current opportunity is for a Strategic Partner, Executive Communications and Public Affairs to serve as a trusted communications advisor. This role involves analyzing situations, identifying opportunities, providing recommended courses of action, and developing and executing effective communications supporting our strategic plan.
- Main Responsibilities:
- Support the organization's strong reputation by conducting thoughtful research and preparing executive-level briefing notes, presentations, speeches, editorials, opinion pieces, and strategic or sensitive correspondence that support the strategic plan and priorities.
- Establish and maintain a list of parties of interest or partners — monitor partner communications and identify the opportunities that require response or outreach from CDA-AMC.
- Identify and evaluate external communication opportunities, including media interviews, journal editorials, conference and meeting presentations, and internal activities.
- Establish and meet timelines and deadlines for communication deliverables to inform the annual external marketing and communications strategy.
- Work closely with the Director of Marketing and Communications, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and key partners to provide advice on crisis situations, corporate positioning, media relations, and executive communications.
- Monitor and brief the Executive Leadership Team on political activities related to Canada's health systems and issues, with the potential to positively affect the organization and its work.
We are seeking an experienced professional with a postsecondary education in a related field such as public relations, journalism, or communications, coupled with professional writing or corporate writing experience typically acquired over a period of no less than 7 years.
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience researching, speechwriting, and editing communications content in a government office, higher-education institution, public relations agency, or other related environment.
This role offers a competitive compensation package, including participation in the Healthcare of Ontario Pension Plan (HOOPP). The estimated salary range for this position is $110,000 to $137,000 per year, based on location and industry standards.
