Job Title: Automotive Mechanic

We are seeking a skilled Automotive Mechanic to join our team at Coast Tire & Auto Service Ltd.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will be responsible for performing routine maintenance and repairs on commercial transport trucks and automotive systems. This includes inspecting and testing mechanical units, adjusting and replacing parts, and providing excellent customer service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Inspect and test mechanical units to locate faults and malfunctions
  • Adjust, repair or replace parts and components of commercial transport truck systems
  • Confirm findings with supervisor to determine whether to repair or replace unit
  • Discuss work with supervisor
  • Review work orders
  • Test automotive systems and components
  • Adjust, repair or replace parts and components of automotive systems
  • Repair or replace mechanical units or components
  • Advise customers on work performed and future repair requirements
  • Coach and instruct apprentices
  • Provide customer service
Requirements
  • Automotive Service Technician Trade Certification
  • Automotive Service Technician (Steering, Suspension and Brakes) Trade Certification
  • Automotive Service Technician Red Seal Certificate
  • Valid driver's licence
  • Steel-toed safety boots
Work Environment

The successful candidate will work in a fast-paced environment with dusty, dirty, and noisy conditions. They will be required to stand for extended periods and have excellent hand-eye coordination, attention to detail, and manual dexterity.
