About the Role

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Housekeeping Assistant to join our team at Travellers Motel. As a key member of our housekeeping staff, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of our rooms and common areas.

Key Responsibilities
  • Housekeeping and Cleaning Duties
    • Sweep, mop, wash, and polish floors to ensure a clean and safe environment for our guests.
    • Dust and polish furniture to maintain a high level of cleanliness and presentation.
    • Vacuum carpeting, area rugs, draperies, and upholstered furniture to ensure a clean and tidy environment.
    • Make beds and change sheets to ensure a comfortable and clean sleeping environment for our guests.
    • Distribute clean towels and toiletries to ensure our guests have everything they need.
    • Pick up debris and empty trash containers to maintain a clean and safe environment.
    • Perform light housekeeping and cleaning duties as needed to maintain a high level of cleanliness and presentation.
  • Support for Newcomers and Refugees
    • Assist with immediate settlement needs of newcomers and/or refugees, including housing, transportation, storage, childcare, and winter clothing.
    • Provide support and guidance to help newcomers and refugees settle into their new environment.
  • Support for Youths
    • Provide awareness training to employees to create a welcoming work environment for youth.
  • Support for Indigenous People
    • Provide cultural competency training and/or awareness training to all employees to create a welcoming work environment for Indigenous workers.
  • Support for Visible Minorities
    • Provide diversity and cross-cultural training to create a welcoming work environment for members of visible minorities.
  • Work Environment
    • Work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment with a focus on providing excellent customer service.
    • Work 40 hours per week in a regular schedule.
    • Work in a team environment with a focus on collaboration and communication.
