About the Role

Cowan Insurance Group is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Consultant, Benefits Business Development to join our Group Benefits Team. This role reports to the Regional Sales Manager, VP Business Development in Group Benefits.

Key Responsibilities
  • Solicit, counsel, and quote potential new clients leveraging external carrier partners
  • Manage the sales and implementation process
  • Handle all aspects of employee benefits programs from inception to renewal, mid-term adjustments, and claims
  • Develop and support individual sales goals with a sales and training plan created with the National Benefits Leadership Team
Requirements
  • Minimum 5 years experience in employee benefits
  • LLQP license or willingness to obtain
  • GBA, CEBS (or working towards designation) would be an asset
  • Strong social skills and confidence required to succeed
  • Customer-centric, friendly, and professional at all times
  • Demonstrated consultative approach to selling
  • Exceptional organization skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively
  • Highly developed sales and customer service skills
  • High level of self-motivation, with the ability to perform effectively with minimal supervision
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Excellent computer skills and knowledge of MS Office products
  • Proficiency with social media and willingness to work with emerging digital tools
