Job Summary
We are seeking a Physiotherapy Assistant to join our team in the Toronto region. As a Physiotherapy Assistant, you will work closely with our Occupational Therapists and Physiotherapists to develop and implement individualized programs for our clients. Your primary responsibility will be to provide therapy sessions, including balancing and strengthening exercises for seniors at risk of falling.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement individualized programs in conjunction with the Occupational Therapist/Physiotherapist and other members of the multidisciplinary team.
- Provide therapy sessions as instructed, including balancing and strengthening exercises for seniors at risk of falling.
- Attend client/patient-related meetings to report on assessment findings and discuss plans for interventions.
- Implement treatment plans based on assessment, client/patient input, and in conjunction with the client/patient's integrated care plan.
- Maintain accurate and complete clinical records on client/patients according to established procedures and ensure the confidentiality of these records.
Requirements
- Certificate or Diploma in the Occupational Therapist Assistant or Physiotherapy Assistant Program from a recognized community college program or school registered with the Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities or equivalent in training and experience.
- Able to meet the physical demands of the job as described.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and as a member of a multidisciplinary team.
- Proficiency in the use of technology (MS Office, proprietary software).
- Current police check for work with the vulnerable sector.
- Valid G driver's license, third-party insurance coverage must be maintained at $1,000, and must have a reliable vehicle.
