Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Automotive Operations Specialist to support our Edmonton location. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the efficient execution of daily operations, focusing on customer service, initial estimates, and repair plans.

Responsibilities

The Automotive Operations Specialist will be responsible for:

  • Providing leadership to ensure stakeholder objectives are met in a safe, effective, and positive manner;
  • SUPPORTING management of shop operations in alignment with The Craftsman Way (TCW);
  • Supporting daily production, workflow, and quality control of the shop;
  • Utilizing company dashboard tools to accurately identify and prioritize tasks;
  • Actively participating in daily production meetings;
  • Applying expert knowledge and adherence to all insurance-specific policies and procedures;
  • Identifying and ordering parts from the management system after completing repair plans;
  • Assisting customers with claims and repair process information;
  • Maintaining awareness of production deadlines and updating customers as required;
  • Providing exceptional customer service at vehicle drop-off and pick-up, including reviewing replacement and customer vehicles;
  • Supporting pre- and post-vehicle diagnostic scanning;
  • Checking for vehicle recalls while building repair plans;
  • Reviewing vehicle history in the Craftsman Management System;
  • Proactively reducing effort to increase touch time and reduce vehicle days in shop;
  • Collaborating with the Shop Manager, Assistant Shop Manager, Operations team, People and Culture Team, and Health, Safety, and Environment Manager to ensure compliance with provincial and national regulatory standards;
  • Ensuring internal policy compliance to promote consistent application within the Company;
  • Contributing to closing all files within 24 hours of vehicle delivery;
  • Supporting company standards in SPARKLE, safety, and security;
  • Representing and promoting the Craftsman Collision brand positively aligned with stated values in all dealings internal and external;
Requirements

To succeed in this role, candidates must possess:

  • A minimum of 1.5 years of progressive industry experience, including sales, customer service, or leadership roles;
  • A Post-secondary degree or diploma in a related field is preferred; however, a combination of education and relevant experience will also be considered;
  • Experience working in fast-paced, team-oriented environments;
  • Working towards I-CAR Platinum certification is an asset;
  • Proficiency in Mitchell Estimating, Audatex, ALLDATA;
  • Experience using the Craftsman Management System or similar platform;
  • Knowledge and experience in ADAS systems, vehicle calibrations, and emerging vehicle technologies;
  • Strong verbal, written, and listening skills, combined with the ability to interact and gain support from senior leadership and other decision-makers;
  • A well-defined sense of diplomacy, including negotiation and conflict resolution skills;
  • Demonstrated time management, problem-solving, critical thinking, and sound judgment skills;
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a customer service-oriented attitude;
  • Proficiency in Outlook and video conferencing platforms, with the ability and willingness to learn new applications;
  • Demonstrated desire and aptitude for learning and development;
  • A valid Class 5 driver's license with a clean driver's abstract over the last three years;
  • Legal entitlement to work in Canada with no restrictions.
Salary and Benefits

The estimated salary for this position ranges from $63,000 to $76,000 annually, based on experience. We offer competitive benefits, including extended health, professional development opportunities, certified training, and more.
