At Watson Clinic, we are seeking a highly skilled Medical Receptionist Specialist to join our team. The estimated salary for this position is $45,000 - $55,000 per year.

Job Summary

The Medical Receptionist Specialist will be responsible for ensuring a positive patient experience from the moment they walk through our doors. This includes verifying demographics, updating emergency contact information, and providing questionnaires as needed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Verify patient demographics to avoid duplicate patients and ensure accurate billing information
  • Update emergency contact information, including guarantor and addresses
  • Provide questionnaires to patients as required
  • Monitor the lobby to ensure patients are not waiting excessive amounts of time and notify them of wait times
  • Obtain and/or verify current insurance information when scheduling and arriving appointments
  • Follow IDX Alert policy prior to scheduling appointment and PFS collection comments
  • Communicate with department MCR to verify appropriate referrals are entered and attached to appointment in a timely manner
  • Schedule and cancel appointments accurately following protocol and proportionately handle incoming calls
  • Reschedule bumped patients in a timely manner
  • Review exam screening forms and prepare patients appropriately for examination

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Able to work independently with minimum supervision and exercise judgment and discretion
  • Basic knowledge of Windows-based computer applications
  • Accurate keyboard skills
  • Prior experience in a medical or insurance environment is preferred, but not required
