Emergency Medicine Physician

Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre is seeking a skilled Emergency Medicine Physician to join their team. This newly renovated and expanded Level 2 emergency department provides 24/7 access to emergency services, backed by a comprehensive range of primary and secondary services.
Responsibilities- Provide expert leadership in the resuscitation and stabilization of major trauma patients and critically ill patients.
- Assess and manage a wide range of emergency medicine presentations, from injury to unexpected and undifferentiated medical and surgical illness in all ages, to mental health emergencies.
- Full-time is defined as hours per annum, with rotational shift work, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Part-time work is available and encouraged for those who also want to participate in the hospitalist program or family medicine practices.
- Current shifts are 4h or 8h in length, with coverage per day, with the option to combine shifts as desired.
- All applicants must be eligible for licensure with the CPSNS.
- All family physicians must have membership with the CFPC.
- All specialists must be eligible for certification with the RCPSC.
- Membership with the CMPA is required.
- Current Certification is mandatory.
- For those applicants not holding current CCFP(EM) or FRCPC credentials, ACLS/ATLS/PALS and Advanced Airway certifications are mandatory.
- ED US training is strongly desirable and supported by the department.
