Education and Certification:

  • Completion of a recognized post-secondary program in Medical Laboratory Technology
  • Certification through the Canadian Society of Medical Laboratory Science (CSMLS)
  • Registration with the College of Medical Laboratory Technologists of Ontario (CMLTO) in areas of responsibility required

Experience and Skills:

  • Minimum one (1) year recent laboratory experience in related discipline(s), as required by assigned area, preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to develop skills and knowledge in required areas of the laboratory
  • Experience with current instrumentation/automation in respective area an asset
  • General knowledge of all areas of the laboratory preferred
  • General knowledge of the theory and practices of applicable laboratory procedures and equipment required
  • Meditech and LIS knowledge and experience an asset

Professional Affiliation:

  • Current registration with the College of Medical Laboratory Technologists (CMLTO) in areas of responsibility required
  • Participation in professional committees, networks recommended
