Job Title

Tenure-Track Assistant Professor in Indigenous History or Canadian History at the University of Regina.

About the Role

We are seeking a highly qualified Academic Historian to join our Department of History as a tenure-track Assistant Professor in Indigenous History or Canadian History. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching undergraduate and graduate courses, conducting research, and contributing to the department's academic programs.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be expected to:

  • Possess a PhD in History or a related discipline, or be close to completing a PhD;
  • Show a strong commitment to scholarship and its dissemination;
  • Possess experience in teaching at the post-secondary level;
  • Instruct undergraduate and graduate courses in Indigenous History or Canadian History;
  • Engage in administrative duties within the Department of History, the Faculty of Arts, and the wider university community.
Required Skills and Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A specialization in Public History;
  • Research interests in Indigenization and decolonization in museums, archives, and heritage organizations;
  • Expertise in the public dissemination and preservation of history through museums, exhibits, the internet, and other relevant sites.

Estimated Salary

$85,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience.
