About the Role

Porter Airlines Inc. is seeking a skilled Aircraft Engineer to join our team in a base position. As a Licensed Aircraft Maintenance Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our aircraft.

Key Responsibilities
  • Troubleshoot aircraft systems to identify problems and implement repairs according to specifications and established procedures.
  • Repair and overhaul aircraft systems, including structural, mechanical, and hydraulic components.
  • Install or modify aircraft engines, mechanical, hydraulic, flight control, fuel, and pneumatic systems.
  • Dismantle and reassemble airframes, aircraft engines, and other aircraft systems for repair and maintenance.
  • Perform and document scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, including ordering and maintaining inventory of parts and supplies.
  • Maintain Ground Support Equipment (GSE) and ensure company offices and vehicles are kept organized and in working order.
  • Actively participate in Porter's Safety Management System (SMS), including reporting hazards and incidents encountered in daily operations.
  • Carry out tasks assigned by Maintenance Operations Control and assist on the ramp as required.
Requirements
  • Possession of a Transport Canada Aircraft Maintenance Engineer License (M2 rating) is required.
  • Proven technical aptitude with at least 2 years' experience and/or endorsed on DASH 8– 400 and/or Embraer Regional Jets and/or equivalent type of aircraft.
  • Experience working on a wide range of airframe systems, including electrical, navigation, flight controls, and turbine engines.
  • Ability to frequently climb, kneel, and crawl into tight spaces, as well as lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to obtain necessary Transport Canada security clearances and driver's airside license within 6 months from date of hire.
  • Full unrestricted driver's license with a clean abstract is required.
  • Successfully complete the company background and pre-employment screening tests.
  • Flexibility to work shifts and overtime is required.
