Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Human Resources Business Partner to join our team at CMHC - SCHL. In this role, you will provide expert guidance to people leaders and employees on a diverse range of human resources matters, including strategies, techniques, practices, and approaches geared towards effective leadership and people management in the workplace.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Provide expert guidance to people leaders and employees on human resources matters, including strategies, techniques, practices, and approaches for effective leadership and people management.
  2. Interpret HR policies and guidelines for managers and employees, making recommendations and assisting them in their decision-making.
  3. Work closely with managers and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase retention.
  4. Influence and motivate employees and client groups by providing guidance and information for informed decision-making.
  5. Prepare management reports supporting performance management, recruitment, succession, and workforce planning.
  6. Enable improved managerial decision-making through research, analysis, interpretation, and provision of best practice HR data and options.
  7. Analyze Human Resources issues and concerns arising from operations, planning and recommending strategies and options driven by data to address them, and supporting management in implementing solutions.

Requirements

  1. An undergraduate degree in a related field, such as human resources, business administration, or psychology, and/or a combination of education and experience.
  2. A minimum of five years' experience in Human Resources employment policies, practices, legislative issues, and regulations, as well as related industry trends.
  3. A results-driven approach with proven ability to multi-task in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  4. Strong oral and written communication skills in both official languages, including demonstrated presentation and facilitation skills.
  5. A demonstrated ability to identify new ways for HR to support business strategy.
  6. The ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
  7. Skills in persuasion, influencing, and/or negotiating with internal and/or external stakeholders.
