About the Opportunity
This role is part of the Ayás Mén̓men Child and Family Services Department, reporting directly to the Team Leader, Child, Youth and Community Awareness. The position works in concert with Ayás Mén̓men Case Management to provide children and youth in care with one-on-one support as part of interdisciplinary case management.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide life skills coaching and support to children and youth in care.
- Develop and implement recreational and cultural activities and programs that incorporate traditional Squamish teaching and values.
- Work collaboratively with volunteers and other team members to achieve program goals.
- Maintain accurate records and reports as required.
Requirements
- Combination of education and experience in a related field.
- Certificate in Life Skills, Social Work, or a related field from a recognized post-secondary institution.
- Professional communication style with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to influence others.
- High level of emotional intelligence, patience, and integrity.
- Able to maintain composure in high-pressure situations.
