Job Description:

The successful candidate will work in a fast-paced environment providing client service for criminal law matters in the courthouse, both virtually and in person once in-person services resume. They will assist unrepresented clients who have been charged with criminal or quasi-criminal matters and represent them at bail hearings, guilty pleas, and remands. Additionally, they will assess clients' needs, identify vulnerable clients, and facilitate referrals to appropriate services.

The role involves providing summary legal advice to clients in or out of custody, assisting colleagues in preparing bail hearings, guilty pleas, and other forms of resolutions, representing clients in Crown pre-trial negotiations for purposes of resolution, and participating in specialty courts as required.
