Professional Mental Health Counselor

The Nova Scotia Health organization is seeking a skilled Health Care Social Worker to join its team at the Dartmouth General Hospital.
This role is part of a multi-disciplinary team providing interventions to clients and their families, enabling them to achieve optimal health and functioning.
Main Responsibilities- Conduct psychosocial assessments, adjustment therapy, supportive therapy, crisis counseling, resource counseling, discharge planning, and case management.
- Be actively involved in advocacy, education, program planning, consultation, and collaboration on behalf of individuals/groups within the institution and community.
- Masters Degree in Social Work from a recognized university.
- Registered or eligible for registration with the NSCSW.
- Two years of clinical experience as a clinical Social Worker preferred.
- Strong counselling and communication skills.
- Capacity to achieve a high degree of autonomous practice.
- Ability to work within a multidisciplinary team context.
- Experience providing care in the emergency department an asset.

Salary and Benefits$37.31-$49.05 per hour.
