About the Role


We are seeking a skilled Procurement Specialist to join our team at George Brown College. As a key member of our procurement team, you will be responsible for supporting strategic leadership and oversight in the development and execution of complex capital projects.



Key Responsibilities:



  • Takes lead role in researching, developing, preparing, and issuing bid documents for complex procurements.
  • Liaises with evaluation teams to facilitate the evaluation and award process of bid submissions in Bonfire.
  • Tracks contracts created in Bonfire Contract Management tool.
  • Provides advice and solutions for the procurement of goods, services, and projects.
  • Creates and organizes bidding documents, including Scope of Work, Specifications, Evaluation Criteria, and associated Terms and Conditions.
  • Leads RFX consensus meetings and prepares contract negotiation, award letters, and regret letters.
  • Stays up-to-date on industry trends and legislation changes through attendance at trade shows, purchasing courses, and seminars.
  • Supports negotiation strategies in collaboration with client business units to achieve optimum contract conditions.
  • Supports procurement planning, scheduling, coordinating, prioritizing, and managing reporting across sectors.
  • Develops Sourcing User Guides and Training Manuals and oversees annual Fiscal Year end Sourcing and Procurement Activity Reporting and Analysis.


Requirements:



  • Degree in Business or related field and certification in Supply Chain Management (SCMAO) or equivalent.
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in public sector procurement, leading multiple competitive bid events for large organizations.
  • Experience in procurement/compliance strategies, RFx bid evaluation, policy development, customer service leadership, consultation/advisement, project management, conflict resolution, and risk assessment.


Salary: We offer a competitive salary range of $90,000 - $120,000 per year, depending on experience.
