Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse or Registered Psychiatric Nurse to join our team as a Forensic Community Specialist. As a member of our team, you will work with individuals who have complex mental health and substance use challenges.

Responsibilities:
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments, develop and implement individualized treatment plans, and provide ongoing support to clients.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Provide education and support to clients and their families on mental illness, medication management, and community resources.
  • Facilitate access to psychiatric and social services, including referrals to community resources and coordination of care.
Requirements:
  • Current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse or Registered Psychiatric Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses & Midwives.
  • Two years recent experience working with individuals with severe and persistent psychiatric illness.
  • Broad knowledge of nursing theory, forensic psychiatric nursing practice, and BC's Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples Act.
  • Valid BC Driver's License and reliable vehicle for local travel.
Compensation and Benefits:

We offer a competitive salary range of $84,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on experience, plus benefits including extended health and dental coverage, pension plan, and opportunities for professional development.
