At CN, we are seeking a skilled Heavy Duty Mechanic to join our team in the rail maintenance equipment repair and maintenance department.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform minor and major repairs, overhauls, and servicing of all types of rail maintenance equipment, attachments, and material handling equipment.

• Utilize electric and oxy-acetylene welding equipment, lubrication, and other repair equipment to ensure efficient and safe operations.

• Record details on prescribed forms in accordance with established procedures.

• Collaborate closely with management to ensure seamless communication and workflow.

• Uphold all applicable health and safety policies to maintain a safe working environment.

• Perform repairs in various weather conditions and at different times of the day.

• Operate and maintain a service truck in accordance with standards.

Requirements:

• Must have experience with electric and gas welding equipment.

• Must be an interprovincial red seal Heavy Duty Mechanic or equivalent, with experienced 4th year apprentices considered.

• Must possess own hand tools up to 1 1⁄4".

• Must be capable of lifting 50lbs.

• Must be willing to travel within BC/AB on assigned work cycles.

• Must hold a valid Class (5) Driver's License.
