Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Equipment Operator to join our Winter Maintenance team at Webber Infrastructure Management Canada Limited. As a key member of our crew, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining our fleet of sidewalk plows to ensure safe and efficient snow removal and winter maintenance operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate Sidewalk Plows: Safely and efficiently operate sidewalk plows to remove snow and ice from pedestrian pathways, sidewalks, and other designated areas.
  • Maintenance and Repair: Perform routine maintenance checks on equipment to ensure proper functioning and report any issues. Conduct repairs and maintenance tasks as needed to ensure optimal performance.
  • Winter Maintenance Operations: Assist in the planning and execution of winter maintenance operations, including snow removal, salting, and de-icing.
  • Team Collaboration: Collaborate with team members to complete tasks in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Safety Protocols: Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Additional Responsibilities: Assist with de-icing and salting operations as needed. Maintain a clean and organized work area. Report progress and any obstacles encountered to the supervisor.
Requirements
  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience: Minimum of three (3) years related work experience in construction, road maintenance, commercial/industrial repair, maintenance, or landscaping (outdoor work). Experience operating sidewalk plows is preferred.
  • Certifications and Licenses: Valid Ontario Class G driver's license is preferred and an acceptable driving record. Successful completion of training in traffic control methods, first aid, transportation of dangerous goods, WHMIS, and job-related aspects of Occupational Health is an asset.
Work Conditions/Physical Demands
  • Physical Demands: Ability to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted. Use manual and powered pneumatic, hydraulic, gas, and electric powered tools and equipment. Routine exposure to outside weather conditions including extreme heat and cold.
  • Work Environment: Occasional exposure to wet and/or humid conditions; high precarious places; fume or airborne particles. Frequent exposure to toxic or caustic chemicals, frequent exposure to insects and infrequent exposure to reptiles/rodents, the noise level in the work environment usually moderate but on occasion can be more than moderate.
