About the Role:
We are seeking a Support Family Services Coordinator to join our team at Dnaagdawenmag Binnoojiiyag Child & Family Services. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in providing support services to children, youth, and families.
Job Summary:
The Support Family Services Coordinator is responsible for providing a support function alongside front-line staff with respect to children, youth, and families in care or customary care. This includes monitoring court-ordered family visits, providing assistance to families involved with child wellbeing services, and undertaking various social service support responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities:
Providing support for the child/youth under their care during community outings;
Ensuring the safety and well-being of the child/youth while under their care;
Assisting in carrying out the plan for the child, youth, or the family as directed by the Supervisor or designate;
Documenting clear and detailed case notes;
Modeling appropriate behaviours and language;
Providing transportation for the child, youth, and/or family as directed by the Supervisor or designate;
Encouraging positive communication with the child, youth, and family;
Empowering the child, youth, and family to feel worthwhile and valued;
Supervising access visits;
Reporting immediately to the appropriate person, any child/youth who may need protection or are at risk;
Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- A Diploma in the Human Services field with at least one year of similar experience or the equivalent of a Human Service Certificate with at least three (3) years of similar experience;
- Experience working within Child Welfare and/or Indigenous Child-Wellbeing setting would be considered an asset.
What We Offer:
We offer a competitive salary range of $55,000 - $65,000 per year, depending on experience. Our team is passionate about making a difference in the lives of children, youth, and families, and we strive to create a work environment that is inclusive, respectful, and supportive.
