Halton Region is seeking a skilled Nutrition Support Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will provide exceptional service to residents by creating a welcoming atmosphere and ensuring the quality of food products.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide respectful and individualized service to residents, including getting to know their names, diets, and preferences.
  • Re-thermalize menu items and ensure the finished quality of all products.
  • Maintain a clean and sanitized environment, adhering to departmental procedures regarding sanitation and food preparation.
  • Transport food wagons and dish wagons to and from the servery.
  • Pick up supplies and products from production, check quality, rotate stock, and discard outdated products.
  • Train co-workers and supply for special events or functions as required.
  • Provide required documentation for audits, food usage sheets, and communicate information via the communication book.
Requirements:
  • Successfully completed or enrolled in a Food Service Worker training program at an established college or registered private career college in Ontario.
  • Good organizational and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team.
  • Possesses an understanding of the Residents' Bill of Rights and Compliance Standards as set out by the Ministry of Long Term Care.
Working Conditions:
  • Flexibility to work outside of core business hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks associated with the position, including lifting, pushing, and pulling up to 50 lbs.

  • A competitive salary range of $45,000 - $55,000 per year, depending on experience.
