Job Title: Community and Social Services Worker

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Community and Social Services Worker to join our team at Strive Living Society Penticton. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals with diverse needs and backgrounds.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing support and services to clients in a group home setting, promoting their independence, and enhancing their overall well-being. This role requires strong interpersonal skills, a non-judgmental attitude, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assess client needs and develop personalized support plans
  • Provide administrative and office support as needed
  • Collaborate with other social services agencies and healthcare providers to ensure comprehensive care
  • Implement behavior management programs and provide crisis intervention when necessary
  • Accompany clients to appointments and social outings, promoting their independence and socialization
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development to enhance skills and knowledge
Requirements:
  • College diploma or equivalent in a related field (e.g., social work, psychology, or a related field)
  • 1-2 years of experience in a related field, preferably in a group home setting
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment
