Groundwater Expert for Infrastructure Development

AECOM, a global leader in infrastructure consulting, is seeking an experienced Groundwater Expert to join its team in Calgary, AB. This full-time role offers a competitive salary of $120,000 - $150,000 per annum.
About the RoleWe are looking for a highly skilled Groundwater Expert to work on a wide range of projects across Canada, including contaminated site remediation, water supply development, and hydrogeological characterization for mine development and closure.
- Design and execute hydrogeological investigations, including ground disturbance planning, drilling, and logging of soil and rock core, sampling of soil, rock, groundwater, and vapour, borehole instrumentation, monitoring well design and installation, and aquifer testing.
- Lead contaminant hydrogeology assessments, including development of conceptual site models, determination of hydrostratigraphic properties and groundwater flow directions, and assessing contaminant fate and transport in the context of source-receptor pathway analysis.
- Contribute to problem formulation for site-specific risk assessments and act as report originator on hydrogeological and related technical reports.
- Provide ongoing mentorship to junior staff in both field and office settings.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A valid class 5 driver's license with no restrictions.
- Experience using industry standard software for determination of aquifer properties, manipulation of geospatial data, and databases.
- Working knowledge of relevant provincial, federal, and municipal acts and regulations.
- Exposure to and working knowledge of geostatistical methods and conceptual modeling software such as Earth Volumetric Studio and Leapfrog.
