Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Welder - Metal Fabrication Specialist to join our team at Global Waste Services Inc. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating manual or semi-automatic welding equipment, reading and interpreting welding blueprints, and ensuring that welds meet standards and specifications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate manual or semi-automatic welding equipment to join metal parts together
  • Read and interpret welding blueprints, drawings, specifications, manuals, and processes to ensure accurate welds
  • Examine welds to ensure they meet standards and specifications
  • Operate manual or semi-automatic flame-cutting equipment to cut metal
  • Operate brakes, shears, and other metal shaping, straightening, and bending machines to shape metal
  • Fabricate and assemble metal parts and equipment
  • Determine weldability of materials and select appropriate welding techniques
  • Operate hoisting and lifting equipment to move heavy metal parts
  • Maintain and perform minor repairs on welding, brazing, and soldering equipment
Requirements
  • Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate
  • Experience with ARC spot welding and other welding techniques
  • Experience with metal shaping, straightening, and bending machines
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
  • Ability to lift up to 23 kg (50 lbs) and stand for extended periods
