Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Executive Culinary Chef to join our team at Restaurant Big Bowl. As an Executive Culinary Chef, you will be responsible for overseeing the culinary operations of our restaurant, including menu planning, food preparation, and kitchen management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Estimate and manage food costs, ensuring that we maintain profitability while delivering high-quality dishes to our customers.
  • Create innovative and delicious recipes that showcase our culinary expertise and appeal to our diverse customer base.
  • SUPERVISE AND TRAIN KITCHEN STAFF: Mentor and guide our culinary team members to ensure they have the skills and knowledge needed to succeed in their roles.
  • CHEF MANAGEMENT: Lead and motivate our kitchen staff to deliver exceptional service and high-quality food products.
  • MENU DEVELOPMENT: Collaborate with our culinary team to design and implement new menu items that meet customer demands and preferences.
  • KITCHEN SAFETY AND HYGIENE: Maintain a clean, safe, and healthy work environment for all kitchen staff.
  • Purchasing: Requisition food and kitchen supplies to ensure that our inventory is always stocked and up-to-date.
  • Operational Planning: Plan and coordinate daily kitchen operations, including meal preparation, plating, and presentation.

Requirements:

  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate required; relevant culinary education or training an asset.
  • 2 years to less than 3 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in a fast-paced restaurant environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate a team.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Familiarity with kitchen safety and sanitation procedures.
