Job Description:

  • Develop fabrication drawings and cut lists to ensure efficient production.
  • Process orders through our estimating program, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery.
  • Prepare work order sheets for the fabrication floor, maintaining organization and attention to detail.
  • Collaborate with Procurement to purchase necessary materials, streamlining the supply chain.
  • Utilize internal systems to enter work order details, enhancing data management.
  • Work closely with Foremen to create as-builds for shipped products, ensuring quality control.
  • Scan packing slips for good receipts, maintaining accurate inventory records.
  • Control documentation with Foremen, managing safety documents and compliance.
  • Create weekly shop production reports for review by the Shop Manager.
  • Develop monthly planned vs non-planned orders for review and analysis.
  • Submit approved timesheets to payroll for hourly staff on a weekly basis.
  • Assist in developing maintenance schedules for shop equipment, working with the Shop Foreman.
  • Prepare meeting minutes for the Fabrication Manager, facilitating communication.
  • Provide ad-hoc assistance to the Fabrication Manager and Shop Foreman, supporting the team's goals.
  • Actively participate in safety and innovation initiatives, driving continuous improvement.
  • Complete monthly productivity reports, analyzing performance and suggesting improvements.

About the Role:

  • We offer a competitive salary of $65,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on experience.
  • The ideal candidate will possess 2 years' experience in industrial, fabrication, or machine shops, with additional experience in manufacturing considered a strong asset.
  • VDC experience is also highly valued, as is proficiency in computer skills and advanced Excel skills.
  • Strong communication and writing skills are essential, along with the ability to interact effectively with all levels of the business.
  • Organized and detail-oriented individuals with a willingness to learn and adapt will thrive in this role.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, combined with the ability to work independently and as part of a team, are critical to success.
  • Knowledge of ERP systems is a strong asset, but not required.
