Job Overview
Alberta Health Services is seeking a highly skilled MEDICAL PHYSICIST to join our Diagnostic Imaging team as a leadership role. This position will be responsible for supporting clinical services, quality assurance, commissioning, and development of new techniques and protocols in Nuclear Medicine (NM) and Positron Emission Tomography (PET) imaging.

About the Job
As a Medical Physicist within AHS Diagnostic Imaging, you will have the opportunity to work with a provincial team, contributing to a comprehensive radiation protection program and academics. Your responsibilities will include:
  • Ensuring high standards for NM and PET imaging policies, processes, procedures, and systems for service delivery to patients.
  • Participating in academic endeavors including teaching programs, developing original research programs, providing regular contributions to medical physics research, and supervising trainees in research.

Key Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need:
  • A PhD or equivalent in Medical Physics or Medical Health Physics.
  • Certification by the Canadian College of Physicists in Medicine (CCPM), American Board of Radiology (ABR), American Board Medical Physicist (ABMP), or American Academy of Health Physics (AAHP).
  • Minimum of two (2) years' experience in the imaging and physics aspects of x-ray.

Compensation Package
We offer a competitive salary range of $110,000 - $140,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus benefits, pension, and other programs that support attracting and retaining talented employees.
