About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Bakery Team Member to join our team at COBS Bread Collingwood. As a key member of our bakery team, you will be responsible for preparing and baking a variety of bread and pastry products.

Key Responsibilities
  • Preparation and Baking: Prepare dough for pies, bread, rolls, and sweet goods, batters for muffins, cookies, and cakes, and icings and frostings according to recipes or special customer orders.
  • Inventory Management: Requisition or order materials, equipment, and supplies as needed.
  • Quality Control: Ensure that the quality of products meets established standards by inspecting kitchen and food service areas.
  • Training and Development: Train staff in preparation, cooking, and handling of food, and provide guidance on maintaining high-quality products.
  • Organizational Skills: Organize and maintain inventory, and ensure that the bakery is well-stocked and organized.
Requirements
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • Work Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a bakery or related field.
  • Physical Demands: Physically demanding role requiring attention to detail and ability to perform repetitive tasks.
  • Personal Suitability: Accurate, judgement, reliability, and team player.
Working Conditions
  • Work Setting: Restaurant or bakery environment.
  • Hours of Work: 30 to 40 hours per week.
  • Language: English.
