Job Title: Automotive Body Technician

We are seeking a skilled Automotive Body Technician to join our team at CARSTAR Manitoba. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for repairing and restoring vehicles to their original condition.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will have a strong background in automotive body repair and a passion for delivering high-quality work. You will work closely with our team to ensure that all repairs are completed to the highest standards and that our customers are satisfied with the service they receive.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Estimate repair costs based on damage examination reports
  • Inspect repaired vehicles to ensure quality and accuracy
  • Plan and execute repair work to be performed
  • Clean and maintain the work space
  • Instruct apprentices in the art of automotive body repair
  • Replace front-end components, body components, doors, and frame and underbody components
  • File, grind, and sand body surfaces to be repaired
  • Hammer out dents, buckles, and defects using blocks and hammers
  • Remove damaged fenders, panels, and grills and bolt or weld replacement parts into place
  • Repair or replace interior components
  • Repair or replace damaged windows, windshields, and sunroofs
  • Operate soldering equipment or use plastic filler to fill holes, dents, and seams
  • Straighten bent frames using frame and underbody pulling and anchoring equipment
Requirements:
  • Motor Vehicle Body Repairer Trade Certification
  • Motor Vehicle Body Repairer Red Seal Endorsement
  • Auto Body Repairer Trade Certification
  • Valid driver's license
  • Own transportation
Work Environment:

The successful candidate will work in a fast-paced environment with a physically demanding job. You will be required to stand for extended periods, bend, crouch, and kneel. A mask and steel-toed safety boots are required.
