We are seeking a highly skilled Strategic Business Development Director to lead our team in managing a defined territory, driving sales growth, and developing new business opportunities.

As a key member of our Scotiabank team, you will be responsible for establishing long-lasting relationships with clients, servicing existing accounts, and prospecting for new ones. Your expertise in our products and practice management skills will enable you to increase sales and retain assets.

  • Manage a defined territory to generate sales and develop new business opportunities.
  • Establish strong relationships with clients, service existing accounts, and identify new business opportunities.
  • Utilize your in-depth knowledge of our products and practice management skills to drive sales growth and asset retention.
  • Maintain regular meetings with financial advisors to promote company products and services.
  • Analyze client needs to define service levels and ensure sales from various distribution channels and firms.
  • Routine rotations within the territory will help increase sales and diversify product usage.
  • Develop and establish new business relationships.
  • Provide coaching and feedback to junior colleagues to enhance their performance.
  • Presentation skills will be utilized to educate advisors on new products, business-building ideas, and tax-planning strategies.

To be successful in this role, you must possess:

  • A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in a field such as commerce, finance, or business administration.
  • Bilingual (FRE/ENG) proficiency is required.
  • A proven track record of progression into roles with increasing responsibility within the financial services industry.
  • A minimum of 5+ years of sales experience.
  • A minimum of 5+ years of experience managing a territory.
  • Familiarity with MS Office (Excel, Word & Outlook) is essential.
  • Experience working with Customer Relationship Management systems.
  • Strong attention to detail and effective time-management skills.
  • Presentation skills will be crucial in communicating effectively with clients and stakeholders.
  • The ability to stay updated on industry trends in the financial services sector.
