Taxation Manager for Brookfield Properties

Compensation Package:
We are pleased to offer a highly competitive compensation package that includes an estimated salary of $120,000 - $180,000 per annum, depending on experience. In addition to this, you will also receive excellent extended medical, dental and vision benefits beginning day 1, as well as a comprehensive RRSP program with contributions starting on the first day of employment.

Job Description:
This senior taxation position requires a seasoned professional with a deep understanding of corporate income tax and tax reporting. The successful candidate will oversee the preparation and filing of all corporate tax returns, manage foreign affiliate reporting, and implement tax planning strategies to optimize our tax position. You will collaborate closely with our finance team to ensure accurate reporting of tax provisions for financial statements under U.S. GAAP and IFRS.
Key Responsibilities:
- Preparation and filing of corporate tax returns in compliance with Canadian tax laws and regulations.
- Management of foreign affiliate reporting.
- Implementation of tax planning strategies to optimize the company's tax position.
- Collaboration with the finance team to ensure accurate reporting of tax provisions.
- Providing guidance on tax implications of business decisions and proposed transactions.
- Conducting research on specific tax issues and providing recommendations.
- Working closely with internal departments, external auditors, and tax authorities to address inquiries and resolve issues.
Requirements:
- Bachelor degree in Accounting or finance designation along with a (CPA) designation would be an asset.
- 5+ years of corporate income tax experience and leadership/supervisory experience.
- Strong background in tax compliance and tax reporting with an emphasis on corporate tax matters and experience working with companies with complex structures and cross-border transactions.
- Strong working knowledge of computerized accounting systems and Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
- Practical experience and knowledge of financial reporting requirements.
- In-depth knowledge of Canadian tax laws and regulations.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
