Financial Reporting Manager Job Description

At CB Canada, we are seeking a highly skilled Financial Reporting Manager to join our team. As a key member of our finance department, the successful candidate will be responsible for preparing quarterly and annual financial statements and other U.S. financial and regulatory reports in accordance with U.S. GAAP and applicable exchange regulations. This includes preparing working papers to support the consolidated U.S. GAAP financial statements and footnotes, as well as assisting with monthly management reporting requirements. The ideal candidate will have a solid knowledge of U.S GAAP and/or IFRS accounting standards and be able to research areas of technical accounting complexity and apply applicable guidance to non-standard contracts and transactions. We are looking for a strong communicator with the ability to work collaboratively with a cross-functional team and be comfortable in a high-paced, fast-changing environment. If you have biotech/life sciences industry experience and prior experience with SAP or other equity awards management system, it would be an asset.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Prepares quarterly and annual financial statements and other U.S. financial and regulatory reports in accordance with U.S. GAAP and applicable exchange regulations.
  2. Prepares working papers to support the consolidated U.S. GAAP financial statements and footnotes.
  3. Assists with monthly management reporting requirements.
  4. Develops and implements finance and accounting policies and procedures.
  5. Analyzes revenue, licensing and collaboration agreements and prepares revenue recognition accounting memos and working papers.
  6. Conducts research and/or prepares accounting memos for other key contracts, transactions or initiatives.
  7. Assists with the Company's treasury function, banking wires, treasury planning and cash flow management.
Requirements:
  1. Solid knowledge of U.S GAAP and/or IFRS accounting standards.
  2. Ability to research areas of technical accounting complexity and apply applicable guidance to non-standard contracts and transactions.
  3. Proficiency with MS Office with strong-to-expert knowledge of MS Excel.
  4. Advanced quantitative and analytical skills.
  5. Proven interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively with a cross-functional team.
