Overview

Providence Health Care is seeking a skilled and compassionate Comprehensive Spiritual Care Professional to join our team. In this role, you will work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams to provide comprehensive spiritual care and emotional support to patients, families, and healthcare staff.

As a key member of our team, you will assess spiritual needs, develop personalized care plans, and implement effective interventions to meet the unique needs of each patient and family.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess and provide comprehensive spiritual and emotional support through counseling and supportive presence during times of anxiety, loss, death, and other spiritual and existential distress.
  • Promote the ongoing spiritual well-being of patients and families through listening, prayer, and group support such as Memorial Services, spirituality groups, Study of Sacred Text, and Hymn Sing.
  • Collaborate with spiritual/cultural representatives and clergy in the community to provide comprehensive spiritual care services.
  • Participate in program-based care team meetings, rounds, huddles, case conferences, family meetings, ethics consults, and other meetings as required.
  • Document all spiritual assessments and significant interventions in patient records to ensure accurate information sharing among interdisciplinary care teams.
  • Mentor and support volunteer visitors who provide ministry to patients and families.
  • Provide spiritual and emotional support to staff during times of crisis.
  • Engage in research projects and opportunities within and outside the department.

Requirements

We are seeking a candidate with a Master's degree in Theology, Public and Pastoral Leadership, Spiritual Practices, or other relevant theological/spiritual studies from an accredited institution, along with a minimum of one advanced unit of Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) or equivalent experience. You should also possess excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills, with the ability to navigate electronic medical records, pagers, and other communication channels.

Compensation and Benefits

The estimated salary for this position is $85,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience. We offer a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision coverage, as well as a generous retirement plan.
