As part of Canada's National Shipbuilding Strategy, Davie is expanding its supply chain leadership team to deliver excellence in all aspects of the end-to-end supply chain.
Opportunity OverviewThis is an exceptional opportunity for experienced professionals to join a dynamic team and make a meaningful impact from day one. The successful candidate will have 12+ years of Materials Management leadership experience within a relevant industry, including Marine, Aerospace, Mining, Transportation, Oil & Gas, Industrial Manufacturing, and Heavy Engineering.
The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker with a strong understanding of ERP and MRP systems. They will possess excellent leadership skills, with the ability to plan, direct, and manage programs to improve performance from the perspective of safety, quality, delivery, lean, cost, and people management.
About the RoleThe Director - Material will lead the Materials Management function, including purchasing, storeroom management, and equipment procurement for shipbuilding, retrofitting, and repair operations. This role involves managing material goods, transactions, and movement between areas of the shipyard and subcontractors.
The incumbent will develop Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for suppliers, implement strategies to improve supplier performance, and work to develop materials management into a key driver of strategic success for the organization.
The Director - Material will also play a critical role in implementing a new ERP system and enhancing the use of an MRP system to improve inventory accuracy.
Key Responsibilities- Plan, direct, and manage programs to improve performance from the perspective of safety, quality, delivery, lean, cost, and people management.
- Develop and implement KPIs for suppliers.
- Implement strategies to improve supplier performance.
- Manage material goods, transactions, and movement between areas of the shipyard and subcontractors.
- Lead the implementation of a new ERP system and enhance the use of an MRP system to improve inventory accuracy.
The ideal candidate will have:
- 12+ years of Materials Management leadership experience within a relevant industry.
- A strong understanding of ERP and MRP systems.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills.
- French/English bilingualism, with the ability to communicate effectively with internal stakeholders and teams in Quebec City.
