Opportunity Overview

WSP Canada is seeking a skilled Laboratory Technician to join our Process Infrastructure and Design team in Sudbury, Ontario. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for conducting laboratory testing, preparing reports, and participating in our Health & Safety program.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct hands-on laboratory testing, including routine, advanced, and innovative tests to assess the physical properties of materials.
• Perform flow loop testing, settling and filtration testing, and rheological characterization.
• Prepare factual reports as required of test results.
• Participate in WSP's Health & Safety program.
• Assist with all aspects of laboratory work as required.

Requirements

• Technician or Technology Diploma in Metallurgical / Mining or Chemical Engineering preferred.
• Current status as (or eligibility for) Certified Engineering Technician/Technologist.
• Experience in relevant laboratory testing preferred.
• Excellent computer skills, especially Word and Excel.
• Keen interest in working for the mining industry or on mining projects.
• Familiarity with ASTM test procedures and material handling requirements.
• Familiarity with maintenance and troubleshooting of laboratory test equipment.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work in a collegial environment.
• Willingness to travel.
• Be a team player with strong people skills.
