Cabinetmaker Job Description

Avish Constructions is seeking a skilled Cabinetmaker to join our team. As a Cabinetmaker, you will be responsible for designing, building, and installing custom cabinets and furniture for our clients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and build custom cabinets and furniture using various materials and techniques.
  • Operate woodworking machines, such as power saws, jointers, mortisers, and shapers, to cut, shape, and form parts and components.
  • Prepare specifications of custom-made cabinets that maximize storage.
  • Shape surfaces or edges of wood workpieces using hand tools, such as planes, chisels, or wood files.
  • Instruct apprentices and supervise other workers.
  • Study plans, specifications, or drawings of articles to be made.
  • Operate CADD and other computer software systems.
  • Trim joints and fit parts and subassemblies together to form complete units and reinforce joints.
  • Sand wooden surfaces and apply veneer, stain, or polish to finished products.
  • Apply varnish, veneer, stain, or polish to finished products.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  • Supervise other workers and estimate costs and materials.
  • Repair or restyle wooden furniture, fixtures, and related products.
