Job Description

CIMA+ is expanding its Mechanical and Piping Team with a senior industrial mechanical engineer who will play a key role in shaping complex projects in Western Canada.

This position involves collaboration with the Energy and Resources team to assume responsibility for multidisciplinary projects, primarily in the oil and gas and mining sectors. The initial focus will be on designing materials handling, pressure vessel, process plant, and piping projects across Western Canada.

As part of your growth at CIMA+, you will have opportunities to work with experts on multidisciplinary teams across Canada, gaining leadership responsibilities, including oversight of junior engineers and EITs.

The ideal candidate will possess excellent business acumen, combined with technical expertise in brownfield and sustaining projects, ensuring compliance with Health & Safety regulations and other policies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to project deliverables aligned with project needs;
  • Collaborate in multidisciplinary teams to produce and sign off deliverables;
  • Pursue new business opportunities with clients;
  • Support proposal writing and fee estimates;
  • Coach and mentor junior engineers;
  • Manage value, risk, content, communication, knowledge, and resources effectively;
  • Provide expertise in brownfield and sustaining projects;
  • Ensure Health & Safety compliance and adherence to regulations;
  • Develop and implement budgets;
  • Participate in site surveys;

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Engineering Degree in Manufacturing, Industrial, or Mechanical Engineering;
  • 10+ years of experience in engineering design work in the mining and/or oil and gas sectors;
  • P.Eng designation or eligibility to become a P.Eng in Canada;
  • Proven organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills;
  • Able to multitask, meet deadlines, self-motivate, and adapt to change;
  • Excellent communication skills to interact with all levels;
  • Experience with metal/mineral processing plants, piping, cooling systems, compression, mining operations, conveyance systems, and/or pressure vessels as an asset;

We offer a competitive salary range of $120,000 - $180,000 per year, based on the richness and diversity of the candidate's experience, training, skills, and internal equity.
