Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Human Resources Leader to join our team at OpTalent in Ontario. This role will play a key part in overseeing all aspects of strategic human resources practices and processes within the business at the corporate level.

About the Role

This is a leadership position that offers the opportunity to have a significant impact on HR. The successful candidate will partner with the management team to implement change management and HR solutions in support of business strategies and initiatives. Key responsibilities include:

  • Partnering with the management team to develop and implement effective employee relations, communication, and collaboration initiatives.
  • Developing, revising, implementing, and administering human resource programs, policies, practices, and procedures that improve business performance and ensure compliance, consistency, and equity.
  • Overseeing recruitment processes from job posting to onboarding, ensuring alignment with staffing needs and company goals.
  • Developing and implementing effective onboarding programs to integrate new hires into the manufacturing environment seamlessly.
  • Designing and implementing training and organizational development initiatives that strengthen the effectiveness of staff, leadership, and organization performance.
  • Ensuring compliance with various legal requirements relating to employment law, health and safety, and insurance.
  • Couching managers in employment-related issues, including human resource planning, performance management, and discipline.
  • Supporting career development initiatives to promote employee growth and retention.
Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must have:

  • An undergraduate degree in Human Resources Management or a relevant field.
  • CHRP certification.
  • Proven experience as an HR manager in an industrial environment.
  • Demonstrated change management capabilities and experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to build collaborative relationships with management and employees.
  • In-depth knowledge of labor legislation and HR best practices.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to keep key stakeholders informed, make presentations, and facilitate training.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
What We Offer

This role reports to the VP Human Resources. It is a hybrid position with some travel to other locations. We offer a competitive salary range of $85,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on experience.
