Job Summary

Aurora Lighting Technologies Inc. is seeking a skilled Retail Buyer to join our team. As a key member of our procurement team, you will be responsible for purchasing merchandise for resale, negotiating prices and discounts with suppliers, and maintaining adequate stock levels.

Key Responsibilities
  • Study market reports, trade periodicals, and sales promotion materials to stay up-to-date on industry trends and developments.
  • Establish and maintain contact with suppliers to negotiate prices, discounts, and credit terms.
  • Review requirements of the establishment and determine the quantity and type of merchandise to purchase.
  • Select and purchase merchandise for resale, ensuring that it meets the company's quality and pricing standards.
  • Supervise the work of other buyers and provide guidance and support as needed.
  • Visit trade shows, showrooms, factories, and product design events to stay informed about new products and trends.
Requirements
  • 1-2 years of experience in retail buying or a related field.
  • College or CEGEP education.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Work Environment

This is a permanent position with a 35-hour workweek. The work language is English.
