Job Title: Project HSE Advisor

Procon Mining and Tunnelling Ltd. is a leading mine development contractor in North America, specializing in underground mine development, contract mining, and civil tunneling. We are seeking a motivated and experienced Project HSE Advisor to join our team.

Job Summary:

The Project HSE Advisor will be responsible for maintaining healthy working and environmentally sound practices, incorporating health and safety awareness into all program/project activities, and providing leadership to the team. The successful candidate will have a strong background in health, safety, and environment, with experience in auditing, incident investigation, and risk management.

Responsibilities:
  • Work in accordance with Procon's values and demonstrate commitment, active involvement, and leadership.
  • Demonstrate leadership and commitment to legal and regulatory requirements for health and safety.
  • Responsible for maintaining healthy working and environmentally sound practices.
  • Incorporate health and safety awareness as part of all program/project activities and work priorities.
  • Demonstrate respect for the environment in which Procon operates and create a culture where we work together to effectively manage our environmental responsibilities.
  • Provide leadership to the team through communication of vision and values.
  • Inspire the team to take ownership for delivery of results.
  • Participate in the team-based culture which focuses on service quality.
  • Build an environment based on sharing knowledge and innovation.
  • Motivate people by supporting daily HSE performance, facilitating consistent communication, and providing ongoing coaching, mentoring, and training.
  • Plan and implement key HSE solutions.
  • Foster a collaborative culture which encourages the capture of organisational knowledge, openly sharing innovative ideas and challenging norms.
Qualifications/Requirements:
  • Diploma/Certificate in Health, Safety and Environment or related discipline.
  • Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP) considered an asset.
  • Experience and Qualifications - Auditing, Incident Investigation, Risk Management.
  • Experience in Engineering, Major Project Delivery, Consulting, Mining and / or Operations.
  • 5 / 10 years' experience in a similar role.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage, influence, develop and coach.
  • Highly developed presentation, written and oral skills.
  • Ability to develop effective professional relationships.
  • Accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to be discrete and manage high level confidential information.
  • Ability to plan own work and demonstrate good time management skills.
  • Dependable and able to commit to a 3 week on / 3 week off rotation in a remote location.
  • Positive attitude and enjoys being a proactive member of a high performing team.
  • Preference will be given to those who reside in Northern BC, and we encourage candidates identifying as indigenous decent to apply.

  • Comprehensive compensation ranging between $130,000 - $165,000 per year including annual salary, performance bonus and other site-based premiums
