Maintenance Manager Job Description

Waterford Executive is seeking an experienced Maintenance Manager to join our team at a metal processing facility in the west end of the GTA.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintenance Scheduling and Management: Assign and manage maintenance schedules, projects, and workloads for the manufacturing operations of a continental two-shift operation.
  • Health and Safety: Ensure all staff and contractors work in a safe manner and comply with regulatory requirements under the Occupational Health & Safety Act and other workplace regulations.
  • Preventative Maintenance: Plan, organize, train for, and enforce an effective preventative maintenance program to maintain continuous improvement.
  • Capital Equipment: Directly involved in researching, purchasing, coordinating, and installing new capital equipment.
  • MRO Parts Inventory: Maintain and upkeep MRO parts inventory needed for equipment maintenance and repairs.
  • Contractor Management: Schedule, assign workloads, and supervise maintenance-related contractors and subcontractors, ensuring compliance with workplace health and safety requirements.
  • Reporting and Analysis: Provide analytical reporting on materials lifecycles, downtime/up time, budgetary purchases, and costs, as well as other management reports on a weekly and monthly basis.
  • Performance Reviews: Conduct performance reviews and other human resources-type functions related to management duties for the maintenance department.
Requirements:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a technically related post-secondary technologist diploma/degree.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5-7 years in a hands-on maintenance manager role within a manufacturing or processing operation with complex, automated equipment.
  • Skills: Progressive experience in industrial millwrighting, supervision, and/or engineering, as well as a proven track record in implementing continuous improvement protocols related to production-related programs.
