Environmental Compliance Officer

destinationone Consulting is seeking a highly skilled Environmental Compliance Officer to join our team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring that organizations comply with environmental regulations and standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Monitor and enforce compliance with local, provincial, and federal environmental regulations and standards.
  • Conduct inspections and audits of facilities and operations to assess adherence to environmental laws and regulations.
  • Review and analyze environmental impact assessments, reports, and permit applications to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Provide guidance and support to organizations and stakeholders on environmental regulations, best practices, and compliance strategies.
  • Investigate and respond to environmental complaints and violations, taking appropriate enforcement actions as needed.
  • Prepare and maintain detailed reports and documentation related to inspections, compliance, and enforcement activities.
  • Collaborate with other regulatory agencies, environmental organizations, and community groups to address environmental issues and promote sustainability.
  • Stay updated on changes in environmental regulations, industry trends, and best practices to ensure effective compliance and enforcement.
Requirements:
  • Relevant certification or diploma in Environmental Science, Environmental Management, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as an environmental compliance officer, environmental inspector, or in a similar role with a strong understanding of environmental regulations and standards.
  • Excellent analytical skills for assessing environmental practices and identifying compliance issues.
  • Strong communication skills for interacting with organizations, regulatory agencies, and the public.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills for managing inspections, reports, and compliance records.
  • Ability to stay current with evolving environmental regulations, industry practices, and sustainability initiatives.
