We are seeking a highly skilled Respiratory Therapist to join our team at Prairie Mountain Health. As a Respiratory Therapist, you will be responsible for providing advanced life support and critical care services to patients in our hospital.
Key Responsibilities- Provide consultation to new medical and nursing staff in respiratory clinical applications
- Evaluate and advise on new respiratory and related equipment
- Perform functional checks on all respiratory and related equipment to ensure quality performance
- Repair and troubleshoot respiratory and related equipment as required
- Provide emergency repair back-up in the O.R. in the event of anesthetic equipment breakdown or failure
- Calibrate blood gas analyzers daily, perform daily and monthly maintenance and quality control procedures and records all work performed
- Assess respiratory status of all respiratory patients and charts all findings
- Perform various tests in diagnosing patients' illnesses
- Administer therapeutic procedures in the treatment and management of patients
- Participate in seminars and workshops to stay up-to-date on the latest changes in techniques and equipment
- Eligible for and maintains licensure to practice as a respiratory therapist in the Province of Manitoba
- Certified in Advance Cardiac Life Support, Pediatric Advanced Life Support or Neonatal Resuscitation Program
- Strong organizational, decision making and problem-solving skills
- Ability to prioritize in a changing environment
- Ability to display independent judgment
- Ability to respect and promote a culturally diverse population
- Ability to respect and promote confidentiality
